Sarah has a passion for nature, yoga, art, dance, music, kinesiology and working with children.

Since becoming a mum in 2012 Sarah’s teaching has developed into offering pregnancy, mother and baby, children's and adult classes. Her adult classes have a lunar influence and use mostly the traditional postures from Indian teaching. The children's classes encourage the young people to be aware of their surroundings, the seasonal changes and how we can support our own health and wellbeing with yoga and brain gym exercises.

“ My own yoga practice had to change when I became pregnant, and even when my son was very young the stronger yoga I’d enjoyed previously was no longer possible. I practiced a more gentle form of yoga combined with post-natal exercises for the first 2 years after pregnancy. "

About Pregnancy Yoga

The aim of Sarah’s Pregnancy classes is to help mums to relax and enjoy pregnancy, supporting them towards a positive birth experience. These classes are based on her own experience and her yoga training.

Pregnancy yoga has been adapted from classical yoga to suit women during all stages of their pregnancy, by adjusting the postures to more simple and gentle forms. The postures provide essential support to women and prevent the hormonal changes in the body creating instability and pelvic issues.

By experiencing movements of waves and spirals created by the postures, women are able to make themselves feel more comfortable whilst carrying the baby and during birth. As well as reaching the deeper muscles that will become the birthing muscles and the whole pelvic floor, pregnancy yoga provides a cardio exercise that is suitable for mothers-to-be.

Pregnancy yoga sessions include breathing and relaxation – both of huge importance to maintaining a relaxed and calm mind during birth.

About Baby Yoga

The main aim of the Mother & Baby yoga classes is to provide opportunities for mums to spend quality time with baby & learn appropriate yoga for both their needs. This is done in a relaxed class which incorporates songs & yoga sequences that can be used at home.

Baby yoga is an activity that you do with the baby and can be enjoyed by mums, dads, grandparents and carers.

It provides learning opportunities for babies to move their bodies and strengthen them in a fun and supportive way. Baby yoga encourages bonding with the baby as the partnering adult is constantly looking for cues and interacting with them to see how they fit the movements.

It teaches relaxed holds, energetic walks and fun movements that the babies thrive on. If practised regularly, health benefits include regular bowel movements and good quality sleep. When appropriate the adults will be given some yoga postures to do by themselves and for mums this includes post-natal exercises. This class creates a feeling of wellbeing for the babies and adults and is a joy to teach.

Sarah is a qualified Primary Teacher and remains registered with the GTC Scotland. She is a certified Yoga teacher for adults, children, teens, and babies.

She also has certificates in Bach Flower Remedies, Touch for Health, Holistic Massage, Art Therapy & Reiki.

Since overcoming ME in 2002 and Candida her continuous studies on healthy living are a big passion and she enjoys passing on what's worked in regaining her own health and vitality for life.
